Job Title: Community Support Associate

Department: Delaware and Pennsylvania Services

Reports To: Team Leader

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: Commensurate with education, experience and ASL Certification or ASL Fluent

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include:

• American Sign Language Certification or ability to communicate using American Sign Language
• Professional written and oral communication skills
• Basic math skills
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Meet essential job functions outlined in job description
• Ability to respond during emergencies
• Ability to physically assist individuals
• Professional interpersonal skills
• Experience and willingness to support individuals needing challenging behavioral supports

Summary of Responsibilities:
In general, the work of a Community Support Associate (CSA) includes the provision of direct supports, which could include lifting and other physical activity. The CSA will support Consumers who are ASL Fluent; the successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate using ASL. The CSA may also be required to perform some light office duties, requiring the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. The ability to drive persons served from program sites to community activities is required.

The CSA is responsible for providing quality person-centered services to individual’s served and carries a great deal of responsibility. As a direct service staff, the CSA must maintain the proper balance between individual growth / dignity of risk and the supports and services needed to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of individuals served, according to ISP. The Community Support Associate is responsible for meeting service expectations of individuals and families, as well as that of funders and licensing entities, under the supervision of the Team Leader.

CSAs assigned to this location will be engaged in a providing behavioral supports for deaf individuals living in the community. The work will be challenging and rewarding while supporting individuals to become a part of the community.
