Cave Spring Center, a Georgia VR residential program is seeking three individuals to join the CSC team.
CSC provides work readiness, job readiness, work experience, driver's education, independent living skills and much more for deaf, hard of hearing and many students with disabilities. CSC has a dormitory for students to stay and develop skills for employment and independence. Residents stay for a few months to obtain skills they need for employment and successful.
We are seeking three individuals to join the team.
Cave Spring Center have deaf and hearing staff with ASL skills to serve many deaf and hard of hearing students. CSC is in a beautiful town - Cave Spring where Georgia School for the Deaf (GSD) offers residential education program for children for 1st grade to 12th grade in high school.
Residential Advisor - a full time position to work in the dorm and assist clients in developing skills to live independently through classes and training.
Residential Services Technician - a part time position to work in the dorm and assist clients in developing skills to live independently through classes and training.
Student Education Instructor - a full time position to work in the academic program and prepare students for employment through classes, training and work experience.

Duties & Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, manages a team of professional and para-professional rehabilitation providers in a 24-hour Vocational Rehabilitation residential facility program. The facility assists people with disabilities to go to work and to become independent and self-supporting. Clientele consists of individuals with a wide range of disabilities - with an emphasis on those who are deaf and hearing impaired. Provides leadership, coaching, and information to team in determining program eligibility, appropriate services, and identification of expected independent living outcomes. Implements quality assurance standards in the team process. Supervises and participates in the development, marketing, and advocacy of services to potential clients, their families, and employers. Administers budgets, scheduling and training-related activities of the unit.
Minimum Training & Experience: Position Specific Qualifications:
Two years experience at a position equivalent to the lower level
OR
Bachelor Degree in a related area AND two years of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program
OR
Master's Degree AND one year of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program
OR
Related certification AND one year of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program.
Note: Supervision of a graduate internship will be deemed equivalent to one year of supervisory experience. Some positions may require specialized certification.
Preferred Qualifications: Current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) AND three (3) years professional experience as a Rehabilitation Counselor which includes one year of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program AND an Advanced Level or higher on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview or its equivalent (SLPI)
OR Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling or Counseling related field (Counselor Education, School Guidance Counseling, Community Counseling, Counseling Psychology, etc.) AND three (3) years of professional experience as a Rehabilitation Counselor which includes one year of supervisory experience in a human service delivery program AND an Advanced Level or higher on the Sign Language Proficiency Interview or its equivalent (SLPI).

Duties & Responsibilities: Under limited supervision, evaluates, authorizes and coordinates vocational counseling activities and services for a specialty caseload of deaf/deaf-blind clients whose preferred and/or required mode of communication is sign language. Determines appropriate means of communication based on client's personal, social, and educational background. Translates paperwork into signed language for clients. Assists eligible clients in preparing for, obtaining, and/or maintaining employment, and counsels with employers concerning their special needs. Cultivates and coordinates community and agency resources in advancement of this vocational goal and to ensure the provision of quality servies to the deaf/deaf blind population. Note: This job requires an Intermediate level proficiency standard based on the general Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) at entry.
Minimum Qualifications: Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) certification AND an "Intermediate" level proficiency standard rating based on the General Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) OR Eligibility for Certified Rehabilitation Counselor certification AND an "Intermediate" level proficiency standard rating based on the General Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) OR Interns who are within 12 weeks of graduation from a Regionally accredited Master's Rehabilitation Counseling program (Interns will be required to show proof of graduation prior to beginning employment) AND an "Intermediate" level proficiency standard rating based on the General Sign Language Proficiency Interview (SLPI) All individuals will be required to produce a transcript at the time of application, which verifies their eligiblity for CRC certification.
