Main Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to organize and foster a positive, safe environment that is conducive to best meeting the needs of all students, staff and parents. This includes such responsibilities as: leading, directing, counseling, and supervising a variety of personnel and programs; creating effective parent, teacher, child communications; supporting, encouraging, mentoring, and evaluating staff; fostering teamwork between teachers and among staff and parents; managing budget items; partnering/working with counties’ infant and toddler programs and writing grants.
POSITION DUTIES
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in administration/supervision preferred. Experience in leadership activities that involve organizing, planning, directing, and monitoring resources preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Master's Degree in the Education of Deaf students, Education of Deaf students with additional disabilities or related field required.
Maryland State Department of Education Administrator I required (or the ability to obtain in a specific time).
Experience: A minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is required.
Fluency in American Sign Language and written English, and knowledge of Deaf community required.
Superior interpersonal and active listening skills required.

Monitor IEP implementation including teachers’ strategies to implement IEPs; and comply with accommodations.
Assist teachers in formulating appropriate educational objectives, strategies and activities including review of IEPs and weekly unit and lesson plans.
Coordinate the assigning of staff to classes.
Supervise state and local standardized testing to ensure compliance with established processes and policies.
Promote consistent discipline within the school.
ssist in the creation and improvement of the school’s master schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree in Education of Deaf students, Education of Deaf students with additional disabilities or Special Education required.
Experience: Three years of successful classroom teaching experience with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students required. Must be fluent in American Sign Language and written English. Superior interpersonal and active listening skills required.
LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION
Must hold or be eligible to obtain the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Administrator I certification in the required timeframe.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

About Us
French Immersion Child Care of Gambrills is an in-home family child care registered with the Maryland State Department of Education. The child care offers a language immersion program; the Provider speaks to children in French. Learning materials are in the French language. English is not spoken to children by provider or aides, but sign language is welcome. The child care’s maximum capacity is seven (7) children. The child care is located in the provider’s residence and inspected by the State of Maryland.
Position
Child Care Aide, Part-Time
Days/Hours
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 09:00 a.m. – 01:00 p.m.
Prerequisites
High School Diploma,
Maryland Driver’s License
Duties
Monitor children ages 6-weeks through 5-years-old,
Assist with child activities (dance, art, outdoor fun, trips, facilitate meals, etc.),
Assist with cleaning a kitchen, bathroom and child care rooms
