Summary of Responsibilities:
In general, the work of a Community Support Associate (CSA) includes the provision
of direct supports, which could include lifting and other physical activity.
The CSA will support Consumers who are ASL Fluent; the successful candidate
must be able to effectively communicate using ASL. The CSA may also be required
to perform some light office duties, requiring the ability to sit and/or stand
for long periods of time. The ability to drive persons served from program sites
to community activities is required.
The CSA is responsible for providing quality person-centered services to individual’s
served and carries a great deal of responsibility. As a direct service staff,
the CSA must maintain the proper balance between individual growth / dignity
of risk and the supports and services needed to ensure the health, welfare,
and safety of individuals served, according to ISP. The Community Support Associate
is responsible for meeting service expectations of individuals and families,
as well as that of funders and licensing entities, under the supervision of
the Team Leader.
CSAs assigned to this location will be engaged in a providing behavioral supports for deaf individuals living in the community. The work will be challenging and rewarding while supporting individuals to become a part of the community.

The Pressley Ridge School for the Deaf is hiring a classroom teacher. The teacher
is responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Plan's,
academic plans and behavior treatment plans for students. Classrooms utilize
a team teaching setting working with Deaf / Hard of Hearing students needing
academic, emotional and/or behavioral support.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with PA Certification in Deaf Education
or Special Education. Sign Language fluency is required. Must have appropriate
clearances.
The sign language interpreters for the Pressley Ridge Services for the Deaf
will be responsible for interpreting in various settings within Pressley Ridge
programs including, but not limited to classrooms, client-centered team meetings,
staff meetings, staff trainings, home visits, and many other informal situations.
The Sign Language Interpreter must adhere to the National Association of the
Deaf and Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Code of Professional Conduct
including but not limited to the following:
• Interpreters adhere to standards of confidential communication.
• Interpreters possess the professional skills and knowledge required
for the specific interpreting situation.
• Interpreters conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to the specific
interpreting situation.
• Interpreters demonstrate respect for consumers.
• Interpreters demonstrate respect for colleagues, interns, and students
of the profession.
• Interpreters maintain ethical business practices.
• Interpreters engage in professional development. (NAD-RID Code of Conduct)
Requirements: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Certification or National
Association of the Deaf Certification. Degree from an interpreter training program
or interpreter education program preferred or at least three years experience
interpreting in a variety of settings. Good command of the English language
including education and mental health terms. Valid driver’s license and
relevant clearances.
The Curriculum Specialist (CS) at the Pressley Ridge School for the Deaf is
responsible for providing support services in the areas of curriculum consultation,
intensive and specialized academic programming, extra-curricular activities,
and diagnostic testing. She/he is also responsible for substituting in classrooms
for absent classroom teachers or mental health workers as requested.
Requirements Pennsylvania Teacher Certification in Special Education. Masters
Degree in Special Education or B.S. degree in Special Education AND (2) two
years teaching experience. Fluency in Sign Language (PRSD). Necessary State
and FBI Clearances. Pennsylvania Driver’s License and safe driving record.
Pressley Ridge Services for the Deaf is looking for an experienced Office Manager
with sign language skills. This staff position is responsible for the administrative
and other duties of the program office as well as the maintenance of the client
and staff files and ensuring program is meeting all licensing state and local
codes. The Office Manager will perform assigned clerical duties assigned by
appropriate supervisor. Ability to multi-task is a necessity in busy office
environment.
Requirements: HS Diploma or equivalent, associates degree preferred. Must be
proficient in MS Office suite of applications, Office management or secretarial
experience required. Sign language proficiency (ASL). Proper clearances.
The Pressley Ridge School for the Deaf is currently looking to hire two Mental
Health Specialists. The Mental Health Specialist (MHS) is responsible for developing,
implementing and monitoring effective individualized mental health programming
for each assigned student. MHS also assists the classroom teacher in the development,
implementation and monitoring of individualized academic programs for each assigned
student.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling or related
field. Sign Language fluency is required. Must have appropriate clearances.
Pressley Ridge Services for the Deaf Education and Residential program is hiring
for the position of night Teacher / Counselor. The Night T/C is responsible
for providing overnight supervision (during sleeping hours) and care for the
youth in the program. Night T/C must remain awake to provide back-up during
the night shift and is responsible for the well being of the children in the
residential home. Night T/C will provide overnight supervision and act as a
support to counselor staff. Applicant must be a strong advocate of children
and teenagers in the community, school, and placement to ensure success.
Requirements: HS Diploma/Equivalent, associates degree preferred. Basic ASL
skills required, ASL fluency preferred. Candidate will be asked to learn ASL
if not fluent. Must have valid drivers license and reliable transportation and
appropriate criminal / child abuse clearances.
Located in Swissvale, PA the T/C is responsible for providing primary care
for the youth in the Pressley Ridge Services for the Deaf Residential program.
The T/C is involved in all phases of the development of the child and acts as
a mentor, teacher, and role model. The T/C also provides therapeutic counseling
and direction on a one-on-one and group basis and provides appropriate socialization
and therapeutic activities toward the development and social and interpersonal
functioning of the child. Applicant must be a strong advocate of children and
teenagers in the community, school, and placement to ensure success.
Requirements: BA/BS degree is required. Sign language (ASL) Fluency required.
